Center Life

A typical day at San Diego Job Corps is full of activities to help our students prepare for the real world. Students get up early and spend the majority of their day receiving academic and hands-on career technical training.

After a normal class day and dinner in the cafeteria, students study, attend evening classes, use our Learning Resource Center, participate in recreational activities, or visit with friends. During the evening, students may also participate in residential lessons, activities, and required clean-up.  There are weekday and weekend curfews to assist students in establishing a routine and contribute to the development of healthy habits.

San Diego Job Corps boasts one of the best recreation programs in the nation. Students find our recreational activities to be a fun and exciting way to meet new friends, socialize, or just relax and unwind at the end of the day.  There are recreational activities for every interest including arts and crafts, athletic teams and events, pool and other table games, music, dancing, weight training and conditioning, and off-center events, trips, and tours.

Job Corps is committed to offering all students a safe and secure environment.  We have a Zero Tolerance Policy for violence and drugs. Any student who cannot follow this policy will be dismissed immediately from the Job Corps program.
