Laura’s roles in these fields have provided her with experience and insight into career skills and studies, and how to teach in a shop setting.

Prior to working with Job Corps, he worked in commercial and residential painting for over 18 years. Donald’s experience in construction and painting prepared him to educate and train the next generation of professional painters.

, Fire Training Specialist instructor at Trapper Creek Job Corps Center, brings over 20 years of fire experience with a background in engines, hotshots, helicopter rappel programs, hand crews, fuels and prevention. He came to Trapper Creek Job Corps to make a positive impact on students who want a career in fire or forestry conservation. 

brings over 20 years of hospitality and food service experience to Trapper Creek Job Corps Center. When he isn’t working, Steve enjoys being in nature and fishing.

A 1992 graduate of Oconaluftee Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center, Steve always admired his instructors and dreamed of one day making a positive impact on students in the same way. His favorite part of the job is watching students grow and mature as carpenters.
